Additional Details: My work is a collaboration of ceramics and jewelry. These pieces are representations of Plumeria flowers and Seagrape leaves. Each are hand made and are truely unique. pearls, crystals and found objects - with a hint of whimsy!

Additional Details: ARTIST STATEMENT ~,Through the use of materials, I'm able to create pieces which express the essence of experiences I've had in my life and allow me to bring these personal "stories" to the wearer. The incredibly intricate and almost lost art of enameling satisfies my creative intensity. Much of my current inspiration comes from "The Universe," both scientifically as well as metaphorically. The impressive and colorful images from the Hubble telescope, and other deep sky telescopes, as well as views of the planets, and the heavens through my own telescope captivate me and I have tried to capture their essence in my work. The star forming regions in Nebulas such as the Veil Nebula remind me of creation in all its many forms and I want to convey such creation in my work. The colors and lines of many of my pieces serve to create the image of nebulas and planets and even us afloat in the vastness. I also find inspiration comes from "Dreams," as well as personal "Evolution, and the ever changing "Facets Of Our Lives." In some of the "Dreams" and "Facets" and "Evolution" series pieces there is both metaphor and word play. The word flux in the title of some of the pieces in these series relates the flux or change and evolution in our lives and dreams, as well as the flux or change in the universe at both the cosmic and the quantum level. It is also the term for the clear glass enamel which is used in the whitish or transparent areas at the heart of many of the pieces used to create an impression of depth, space, and movement. When the enamel piece is being fired it is changing, or "in flux." And indeed even when finished at the molecular level the enamel molecules and the metal molecules are always moving. "Always in "flux." The soft lines of some of these pieces serve to remind us of the blurry nature of dreams. The colors and lines of many of my pieces serve to create the image of nebulas and planets and even us afloat in the vastness. Golden colors in the cloisonn? cells in many of the pieces are meant to represent the divinity of existence.
